8 Ways that Your Brain Fools You | Weight Loss for Foodies Podcast

How often do you think the same negative thoughts about yourself or your life?

Have you ever thought about how those thoughts trip you up?

The thing is that most of those thoughts simply aren’t true!

This distorted information that your brain thinks has a name:

Cognitive bias.

Cognitive biases are errors in how you think. They are when you have unrealistic or inaccurate explanations for what’s going on in your life that lead you to make wrong assumptions or conclusions. Those incorrect assumptions cause you to feel negatively about yourself or your life, and they keep you stuck.

There are many different kinds of cognitive biases, this episode focuses on 8 of them that are most likely to interfere with your ability to make positive changes in your life with respect to your relationship with food, eating and your body.

Being aware of your cognitive biases will help you notice when you're having these erroneous thoughts. This awareness will allow you to analyze your thoughts so that you can correct the thinking errors.

Recognizing and working with your cognitive biases will help you have a more positive attitude about yourself and your ability to adopt the habits that will help you reach your goals.
